Avoiding Root Canal Operations

Posted .

Root canal infections are mainly caused by deep tooth corrosion. Fortunately, although this means that patients typically cause their own chompers to decay, this also means that you can have a hand in avoiding the need for a root canal procedure. Here are some things that you can do at home to prevent your need for root canal operations from our office.

Since the root cause of root canal process is deep tooth erosion, stopping tooth decay should be your main target. To minimize the effects of damaging bacterial acids wearing away at your pearly whites, brush your chompers with fluoridated toothpaste at least two times a day. Remove leftover food and food remnants from your mouth at least once per day by using floss, and make sure you’re getting a checkup from our office at least once every half of a year. Another cause of root canal treatment is oral trauma, so if you play contact sports, then wear a mouthguard to shield yourself.
